Pages of a Labyrinth

Unlike a narrative or a text, which develop sequentially, a painting is perceived in a space without a defined sequence. We can appreciate the work in its entirety and then let our eyes travel through the image, drawn to areas of particular interest. To emphasize this process, in this series of paintings I have incorporated dividing lines and frames that enclose certain areas, thus creating spaces within spaces that direct our attention to specific points. In this way, I generate what I call "labyrinth pages" within the paintings, inviting the viewer to explore and discover the different levels and nuances of the work.
