In the Beginnings

In the beginning, it seemed like a game. Fifty years ago, my paintbrush began to fly freely among colors, textures, and shapes, revealing a new language to me. Absorbed in this discovery, a new state of being took shape within me. The contemplation of nature in my surroundings acquired new meanings, beyond what my eyes could see. These are the paintings from the beginning of a long journey, and it has been so inspiring that I am willing to play this game until the end of my days.

Over the years, I have developed several projects exploring diverse themes, techniques, and materials. Below is a sample of five of these groups:

ABSTRACTION AND LANDSCAPE

With the discovery of a paper with a particular texture that interested me, I explored the theme of abstraction in landscape painting using acrylic paint.

MONOTYPES

Monotype is a printing technique done on a flat surface, producing a unique copy without creating a matrix. The exploration of abstraction is very suitable due to the possibility of improvisation and the speed with which this technique can be worked.

WOMEN

The spontaneous juxtaposition of colors supports a simplified drawing style that seeks the essence of feminine forms in a contemplative and reflective state. My interest, beyond realism, is to evoke diverse emotions in the women depicted.
